Repentance

“Repent, and be baptized, every one of you,”
Says verse thirty-eight of Acts, chapter two.

Step one of God’s plan is REPENT, and you can
Provided you know – truly do understand
What is meant by repentance,
One of God’s gifts to man. (see Romans 2:4; Acts 11:18)

Some say, “Just be sorry,”
But it’s much more than that;
More than asking forgiveness,
On your face falling flat;
It means you must CHANGE,
TURN AROUND and arrange
Your life a new way –
A way that seems strange.
(And no wonder,
You’re becoming
a newborn again!)

No more walking in sin,
Like this world that you’re in;
You loved it
But now –
It has grown strangely dim.

A new creature in Christ,
And a new heart within.
You worship the Lord,
And study His Word;
Praying each day,
And living in Him.
