A Look in the Mirror

Even though we may not remember doing so, surely each of us woke this morning and, in the process of preparing for our day, took at least a short look in the mirror. We often get so caught up with the rest of our activities that what we look like is unimportant to us.

James 1:23-25 says, “23 For if any one is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like unto a man beholding his natural face in a mirror:
24 for he beholdeth himself, and goeth away, and straightway forgetteth what manner of man he was.
25 But he that looketh into the perfect law, the law of liberty, and so continueth, being not a hearer that forgetteth but a doer that worketh, this man shall be blessed in his doing.”

While we need to consider our outward appearance, that truly is not the most important part of who we are. We would do well to see how our spiritual reflection compares to the Will and Word of God. It is His will for you to be a Spirit-filled overcomer… a devoted child of God! Let’s take a look into the mirror of His Word today and not just walk away unchanged, but receive from Him what we need!

Prayer

Lord, I pray for your guidance today as I endeavor to do your Will. I want to please you in every area of my life. God, help me to be more like you. When I look into the mirror of Your Word, I want to see a reflection of you in my life.
