Receiving the Blessings

Enlarge the place of thy tent, and let them stretch forth the curtains of thine habitations: spare not, lengthen thy cords, and strengthen thy stakes; – Isaiah 54:2

The blessings of God are in no wise trivial things. In fact, they are of much greater importance and significance to our lives than we may realize!

When God chooses to bless us, He does so with the essence of who He is. When we are blessed of Him, we are being impacted by the very power and nature of God! If we understand this, then we can catch a greater glimpse into the possibilities we have through Him.

A wonderful thing about the way God blesses is that his resources are endless. Paul says in Philippians 4:19, “But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.” When we try to comprehend the riches of God’s glory, we are left astounded at how great He is! Can you imagine that all of the riches of the Glory of God are available to you?! If His resources are endless, then so are the possibilities for your life to be blessed!

Another great thing about the blessings of God is that He extends to us what we need. In Matthew 6:31, Jesus stated that we should, “take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed? …for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things.” Do you realize that God wishes to bless you to provide exactly what you need? Healing, comfort, encouragement, strength, and more!

Lastly, the blessings of God are fulfilling. Isaiah 54:2 instructs Israel to make room for the blessings that God is about to provide. “Enlarge the place of thy tent.” He says. This is to allow adequate room for the blessings to abide. Notice that there was no requirement set for the size… I believe this was to test Israel’s belief for a miracle. Could it be that the size of their blessing was to be proportionate to their capacity to receive? God will fill every area of our life that we make available to Him.

Let’s make room for our blessing today! Let’s believe that God is not only able to provide for us, but that He is willing!
