The Journey

The joy is in the journey

The light is in the night

Strength comes in living

And not giving up

So travel on, Dear Friend

You will reach your journey’s end

But don’t trudge ahead with grief

When you fulfill your mission here

You will find relief

For we are all fellow travelers

Reaching for a goal

But if we miss the day’s opportunity

It will be forever gone

Today you may meet

Someone who has a need

But if you are concerned about the time you lost in detours

You may not notice this service opportunity is yours

Yes, the joy is in the journey

The light shines bright in the night

Take heart, Dear Traveler

You’re still in his will

You’re traveling in his sight

There may be some place you must go

Some test you must face

But mission work is always done

From dawn till setting sun

Don’t miss opportunity on the way to your goal

For what is the goal really, but to save some lost soul

Whether in a cornfield, a battlefield, or a foreign mission field

We must teach some soldier the sword of the spirit to wield

You mustn’t give up or think your life’s work unworthy

For you are where you are for a reason

If your will is submitted to the Savior’s

He will take care of you and prepare you for your harvest season
