God’s Glory

1 Corinthians 3:16 Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?

God takes pleasure in allowing His Holy Spirit to work through us to bring Him glory. Image the gravity of this! A perfect God uses imperfect people to communicate His perfect plan.

Throughout the Bible we read of people like Abraham, David and Jacob and their many shortcomings, but still God used them. And the disciples of Jesus had their faults as well… but God still used them to spread the gospel.

Wouldn’t you would think that our faults and shortcomings would disqualify us from being used by God. Actually, our weaknesses make us better qualified for God’s use. He said: “my strength is made perfect in weakness” (2 Corinthians 12:9). This way all the glory goes to God where it belongs.

We trust in what God can do in and for us, not what we can do ourselves. As God’s Spirit works within us, we should become more like Him. Our life should be a reflection of the glory of God. All honor and all glory belongs to Jesus Christ! What an awesome privilege we have been given to glorify the Lord of Glory!

Prayer

Lord, help us to proclaim your glory in our lives… help us to model ourselves after you and let you reveal yourself through us. Thank you for the privilege of living for you! Amen.
