Husbands, Love your Wives

Do you remember that feeling when your wife first caught your eye? The feeling you had inside made your heart flip. There was an attraction between you that caused you to pay attention to the woman who would soon become your soul-mate.

Over time, for many, that feeling fades a bit and husbands lose the fancy they once had for their “girlfriend”.

Reasons seem to abound in the mind of a man who’s lost his focus. We won’t go into them here.

Are you one who has lost the attraction in your wife? I guarantee you… someone will still look at her the same way you used to!

In my marriage, I have committed to seeking out opportunities to spark the flame between us. I don’t want my wife to ever feel unloved at home, or think of herself as not beautiful. I married my wife because she was the most beautiful woman in the world, inside and out… and she still is to me!

When a wife feels unloved and unappreciated at home, it opens up a terrible opportunity for someone else to try and fill that emptiness. Believe it or not, there are men in this world without the moral fiber to leave married women alone. It is the duty of the husband to make sure his wife not only “is” loved, but “feels” loved.

Keep your wife elated that you love her. Remind her of how wonderful she is to you. Seek out opportunities to express your love and appreciation in thoughtful ways.

Ephesians 5:25 says, “Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it;”

Christ set an example for us, husbands, in how we should love our wives… now go get “that look” back in your eye, and let your wife feel like the most cherished woman alive again.
