Tending The Master’s Collection

Dear Lord,

Can I be a bottler in heaven?
Can I do that work for You?
Bottle up all the tears to save
Like You said You would do?

Can I be a bottler in heaven?
I know I’d do it well.
Cause down here on earth,
I’ve shed tears more than I could tell.

Can I be bottler in heaven?
I’d do my best, I know.
Cause I would recognize the value
Of those that weep and sow.

Can I be a bottler in heaven?
It is akin to my dream.
To be close to the brokenhearted
would be near Your heart it would seem.

Can I be a bottler in heaven?
Else the tears would overflow
The altars of those weeping
The repentant bowed ever low.

Can I be a bottler in heaven?
Joy could not compare
To be there when You answer
All those stored up prayers.

To be a bottler in heaven,
Is all that I could ask.
To be there when the morning
Brings joy to each at last.

  1. I was searching the net hoping to find a copy of my poem. My heart was touched to find someone liked it. Thanks.

    • Sherry, this is such a beautiful poem! I remember first seeing it in the Apostolic Writer’s Digest published by Charles Grisham’s church in Detroit years ago. Very nice!
